“There is freedom waiting for you,
on the breezes of the sky.
And you ask “What if I fall?”
Oh but my darling, what if you fly?

Kathryn Bowden MA, LCMHCA
As the owner of OneLight Christian Counseling, my goal is to offer an environment designed to provide the support, encouragement, and acceptance you need as you work through the challenges life may bring.
Our lives are made up of stories, stories we tell ourselves, believe about ourselves, and stories others tell about who we are.
Maybe your story is not the one you expected, wanted, or worked towards and you find yourself stuck. It may be pain from the past or difficult situations in the present that are keeping you from moving forward in life. That’s where I can help.
OneLight Christian Counseling offers therapy for adult, teens, And couples. By using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy mixed with Narrative Therapy, I offer an eclectic approach tailored to the needs of each unique client.
My goal is to provide a nurturing therapeutic experience in a non-judgmental space.
By combining the science of psychology with the hope offered by a loving, accepting relationship can help open the door to lasting healing, growth, and change.

Common Issues Addressed
Self Esteem Struggles
I’m as apt to cry with a client as I am to laugh with a client. Doing therapy right is hard work, so anything I can do to make that hard work more pleasant, is only benefiting us both.
At OneLight Christian Counseling, we recognize and embrace the profound impact of the human-animal bond. We believe that emotional support and service dogs can play a significant role in the therapeutic process, providing comfort, companionship, and a sense of calm. That’s why we employ a therapy dog at our practice.
We also warmly welcome well-mannered emotional support/service dogs to accompany their owners during sessions.
Pet therapy has been shown to reduce stress, alleviate feelings of anxiety, & improve mood. The simple act of petting or being near a dog can increase levels of the stress- reducing hormone oxytocin and decrease production of the stress hormone cortisol.
But our commitment to your comfort goes beyond embracing the power of pet therapy. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where you feel at ease to explore your thoughts, emotions &experiences.
Here, you’re not just attending a session – you’re actively participating in shaping your narrative and creating the life story you want to live.
So whether you’re navigating through a challenging period in your life, seeking to understand yourself better, or aiming to forge a new path forward, we’re here to provide the guidance, support, and empathy you need. & your furry friend is more than welcome to join us for the journey!
